Series Three of Waterloo Road premiered on BBC One in October 2007 and finished its 20-episode run on the 13th March 2008. The series introduced several new characters, including Eddie Lawson, Waterloo Road's new deputy head introduced in the first episode, and Rachel Mason, the new headteacher, who started her run in Episode 7. The series was split into two parts, the first ten episodes airing before Christmas, and the final ten airing in the New Year after a three-week break
The series begins by directly following the events at the end of Series 2 - teacher Izzie Redpath getting stabbed to death in front of then-headteacher Jack Rimmer. The series also aired on TV One in New Zealand, and both parts of the series have been released on two DVDs.

Plot Points[]
- The School attemps to rebuild itself after Izzie Redpath's death
- Chlo and Donte get married
- Chlo cheats on Donte with her sister's boyfriend Brett Aspinal

- Rachel Mason takes over as head, but it is soon revealed that she has been involved in a crackdown and is hiding something about her past.

- Rachel is blackmailed by Stuart Hordley, a man who knows about Rachel's past troubles.
- Hordley reveals to the whole school that Rachel was a prostitute, but Rachel is allowed to stay on as headteacher.
- An explosion rips through the school, and Rachel gets trapped after trying to save Stuart.

Series Three: Autumn Term, the first half of the series, was released on the 2nd of March 2009. The second half of the season, Series Three: Spring Term, was released on the 11th of May 2009.
